THE THIRD HBOS Trophy concluded on Sunday after
a sensational weekend of futsal. Following three intriguing
and contrasting group contests, the prizes were won by Mohammed Khan’s Computercall side from Leeds/Bradford (right), Nick
Sanderson and his Halifax Retail IT team and Bank of Scotland Glasgow under
the stewardship of David Hillhouse. |

The
trio join Heidelberger Leben and BoS Hamilton on the 2006 winners
rostrum and free-scoring Computercall,
with the tournament’s only 100% record, scoop the overall title of HBOS
Futsal champions. All in all, it was a fantastic advert for company sport with
teams, comprising all ages and abilities and hailing from four different
countries, displaying great commitment to come together for a
keenly-contested but good-natured competition. “A great tournament,”
enthused Heidelberg captain Carsten Henkel while
T-M-B’s star striker Paul Smith said he “thoroughly enjoyed taking part.” Congratulations to everyone who contributed to a
