WANDERFUL TONIGHT

“The Best Yet” says Ritchie after Group Tech end Greenock dream!

The SIXTH Eurofives RBS Trophy tournament produced a sensational climax at the Van Hogendorp Sportcentrum.

For the first time ever, the RBS Trophy was decided on a penalty shoot-out and it was the Edinburgh Group Tech Futsal Wanderers who kept their nerve to pip Group Manufacturing Greenock after the teams had drawn 1-1 in an absorbing final.

Michael Fulton’s Greenock had made a dazzling debut, finishing the group stage with a 100% record, ahead of Edinburgh. Holders RBS Graduates missed out this time, but they, Ulster Bank Dublin and IT Services of London all made a splendid contribution to what was a hugely enjoyable Eurofives afternoon.

“That was definitely our finest victory!” enthused Graeme Ritchie, captain of record champs Edinburgh.

Meanwhile ITS London skipper Chris Jackson added: “Another superb tournament. There were some really good players out there this year!”

Roll on 2010!
